– Skilled Worker Class –

The Skilled Worker Class, within the Work Visa category, opens doors for highly skilled individuals with transferable expertise to establish permanent residency in Canada. Selection as a permanent resident is based on a holistic assessment encompassing education, work experience, proficiency in English and/or French, and other criteria demonstrating economic potential in Canada.

Dynamic Requirements: The Canadian government frequently updates requirements, especially within the Federal Skilled Worker Class. As regulations evolve, applicants are encouraged to stay informed by checking with the government directly or seeking the assistance of an experienced immigration consultant. Our team remains vigilant, staying abreast of policy changes and immigration rules to guide you effectively.

Skilled Work Experience: Skilled work experience entails working in one of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER categories:

  • TEER 0
  • TEER 1
  • TEER 2
  • TEER 3

The experience must align with the duties outlined in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC, covering essential and significant duties. Key criteria for skilled work experience include being in the same type of job (having the same NOC) as your intended primary occupation, being obtained within the last 10 years (in Canada or abroad), and involving at least one year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total.

Part-time work experience is recognized, with flexibility on hours as long as they accumulate to 1,560 hours. Paid work, excluding volunteer work or unpaid internships, is a prerequisite.

Student Work Experience: Work experience gained during your studies may contribute to meeting minimum requirements if it was paid, continuous, and aligns with program criteria.

Selection Factors: Eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program is assessed based on key factors:

  • Age
  • Education
  • Work Experience
  • Valid Job Offer
  • English or French Language Skills
  • Adaptability (likelihood of successful settlement)

Your performance in each factor contributes to an overall score out of 100, determining your eligibility for the program. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada oversee skilled worker migration through the innovative Express Entry system. Those achieving top scores in the Express Entry pool receive exclusive Invitations to Apply, paving the way to a new chapter in Canada.

Embark on this journey towards Canadian Permanent Residency with the Skilled Worker Class, where your skills and experience are valued assets in building a promising future in Canada.
